Syrian Privates Scouts

(Independent civil society organization)

A scouting and guiding association founded in 2013 for the children and youth of Syria. The association aims to establish civilian scouting and guiding groups wherever Syrian children reside, including Turkey and liberated areas of Syria.

Foundation

  • The Syrian National Scouts began their scouting journey with high spirits from young men and women who were experienced in scouting work and advanced in its ranks since childhood… The idea was to establish a scouting group in Istanbul consisting of a number of Syrian children who would work with them according to the Arab Scouts regulations. They recorded their first official presence in the Omraniya camp, which is one of the scouting camps held by the Turkish Scout Federation.
  • The work of the people of determination did not stop with children only… The idea developed into starting to train young men and women who are able to work with children educationally and scouting. Indeed, the first scouting course was “Assistant Scout Unit Leader” in Istanbul – Omraniya, under the direct supervision of the Turkish Scouts. More than 40 supervisors attended this course, who at the end of the course, which lasted for five days, received the Assistant Scout Leader’s scarf, which allows them to establish scouting groups and work with them.
  • The groups expanded, the number of individuals increased, and the Syrian Scouts spread throughout the Turkish states – schools, camps, and youth centers – and their echo began to resonate manually in the liberated Syrian interior. All of this was a motive to organize and arrange the scouting work and put it in an official context locally and internationally in a way that serves the idea and seeks to develop and grow it.
  • The Syrian Civil Scouts were launched on 10/15/2013, and we began to establish the commissions, and the tasks were distributed, and organized programs were put in place for a new work that includes Syrian children and youth in Türkiye and the liberated north of Syria
